I believe the area in the documentary was East Oakland and not San Leandro. The documentary mentioned 3 gangs starting from like 30th avenue all the way South to the border with San Leandro. It looked like International Blvd, Foothill, and Macarthur are the main drags that run through this stretch.

Oakland has a crime map on its website. That would probably be most useful as specific areas that have a lot of crime. I'm not sure if San Leandro has a similar map.

I'm just trying to figure out where this 100 by 70 block area was. East 14th and MacArthur run from San Leandro to the lake(practicaly). I guess the poster was trying to say that 1/2 of Oakland has been taken over by Latino gangs. Maybe Latino and Black. Maybe Asian too. Or do the Asian gans have the other side of Oakland.

This would be funny if it were not so sad.

there are no black gangs in oakland. asian gangs, though they might exist, are not a factor. the only 2 gangs in oakland are nortenos and border brothers. the nortenos stay in the 30s and the border brothers in the 90s. this thread is about san leandro and castro valley, so i have no idea how oakland came up. I just felt the need to correct your blatant ignorance.

I think the post you are referring to was being sarcastic.

You might want to learn how to read between the lines before you respond in such a manner. Geesh

I see a lot of X3 (Surenos) tagging in my area near the border of San Leandro and Oakland.... and they are in San Leandro, so maybe they are pushing west?

San Leandro schools have grown increasingly worse - I think it was reported that 3 just had to be taken over by the state due to poor performance. Most parents in the more affluent neighborhoods send their children to private school.
