Hello! I am considering moving to the Alpine Road area in Walnut Creek, CA. I am wondering if anyone has lived in the apartment complexes by there. How was your sleep experience considering the freeway proximity? If you had earplugs in, did you still hear the freeway noise? I am a light sleeper and I am really concerned if I will be able to sleep (area of Alpine Rd. at Mt. Diablo).

Thank you, thank you!

I-680 is one of the busiest freeways because it is a direct north-south route which cuts through many highly populated areas.. I worked next to 101 for a year and my sister lived next to the on-ramp from Lawrence Expressway onto 101 in Sunnyvale. I found the sound oddly soothing at my workplace; it made the other, sometimes irritating little noises of the workplace disappear. Of course a well-placed truck horn would send me through the roof.

My sister, on the other hand, had constant complaints about living that close to a freeway, and she vowed never to do it again.

My brother used to manage a complex called Alpine Park on Alpine Way in Walnut Creek. He did the start-up when it was a brand-new complex.

The building I imagine is about 15 years old and extra efforts were incorporated regarding sound. I think each apartment was provisioned for Washers and Dryers among other things...

Can you spend some time there and look the place over... I'm sure the acoustics vary depending on what side of the building and whether you have one of the 2 story units.

Hmmm...well, at least it is a month-to-month lease..so if I find it impossible to sleep there, I could move..its weird but parents live by Ygnacio Rd and it's quiet..but I don't think I will fully know until I live there for a while..

I have since moved out from Alpine Ct..it was VERY noisy, at least for me, you were always surrounded by the sound of freeway and there is no insulation between the apartments..you could hear a neighbour yawn
