Hi!

I'm from Sweden and I'm planing to move to SF to go to the Academy of Art University to study animation and visual effects. Since I've never been in SF I've got a few questions!

- Is the Academy of Art a good university?
- How is the student life in SF when you're 21?
- What does the people in SF think about foreigners that studies and live in SF? Do you get accepted or pushed out?
-Is it in general a good town to live in?

Thanks for your time!

Default Info about Sweden please.

I have applied in the past to The Swedish Embassy for info on moving to Sweden as I know more about Europe than 99 % of Americans. My wife is Russian. I was informed Sweden does not take in Americans though. Perhaps I should have applied for refugee status . Mr. O Bama WAS appologizing for the Bush "rule the world policy of the U.S. " today I saw. I want a better world for my daughter to grow up in and have high esteem for Nordic countries as they are ranked as the best places in the world. Try it for yourself , just type in best countries. Norway, Iceland, Sweden, and Denmark come in the top 10. Also the best elementary school rankings are Finland ! Diversity causes problems with so many different cultures. The U.S. has class systems, though not the same as India. Socialism is not such a bad word now that the rich have bankrupted the U.S. through "freedom" ,no regulations, Bernie Madoff types etc. That word makes me sick. The U.S. media boasts about giving our tax money into a bottomless pit to support the military juntas of the world, in the 80's it was Latin America, and Israel, now it is Pak, and Afgan. Tell me about Scandanavia !I always thought of it as "the promised land" as long as they keep out the bearded ones that start trouble in England and France burning cars and such. thanks in advance

San Francisco is wonderful, although expensive. I've never lived in SF as a student, but there's tons of stuff to do, and plenty of young people and students. I think that as a student (or anyone, really) the only really bad part would be the expense, but if that's not a major issue then yes, it's a fabulous place to live.

San Francisco is filled with foreigners from all over the world. You'll hear languages from all over the world - including the Scandinavian countries. You don't need to worry about being "pushed out" on that front.
