Actually, this is a map of the Oakland Hills:

As you can see, they stretch from border to border. Hardly concentrated and hardly Berkeley oriented. Nice try tho.

The world famous Claremont Hotel is entirely in the city of Oakland... yet the media refer to it as the Berkeley Claremont more times than I can remember

This is part of the problem... Oakland is quick to get noticed for all things bad and not for anything good

LMAO. Over 60% of the neighborhoods with household incomes over $100,000+ are in the piedmont-berkeley area I highlighted. Not even including the other high-income housholds. The rest are sprinkled here and there. Most are in the hills. One is a actually country club lol! Try again!

Wrong yet again.

Oakland has twice as many households earning $200,000+ as Berkeley and Piedmont combined. Oakland is the nexus of wealth in the Oakland-Berkeley Area, not the other two. I realize that you dont live here and really are not aware so I take it as an opportunity to educate the ignorant.

I love arguing money-please continue.

Good job delegitmizing wealthy black people! Finally true colors appear.

So that would mean that 40% of those are not.

I just don't think the logic adds up. Certainly, it's true that people segregate based on income levels, educational levels, racial/ethnic backgrounds, and that's the same in Oakland. However, there are too many pockets of people earning good incomes, toe the legal line, etc. to just toss them out as irrelevant. Even in neighborhoods were the median income is lower than $100K, there are plenty of great folks, college educated, dual incomes, sending their kids to private schools, etc.

It's just illogical to paint Oakland with a broad brush, unless have some hang-up with the city, and that's within your right. It's just what I've seen in the nearly 10 years I've lived in Oakland doesn't quite jive with what I've seen posted by some of the posters on this site (although I'm not immune to the very REAL problems Oakland has).

Officially going on ignore. This guy is a troll. Since when was Rockridge Berkeley? Making up borders to make a point. You can't win, this guy is probably from out of state somewhere.

I actually prefer this bunch to the richer ones:
Oak Knoll/ Golf Links $95,110
Lincoln Highlands $94,269
Fairview Park $92,833
Glenview $91,993
Shafter $87,278
Lakeshore $83,415
Maxwell Park $74,057
Upper Dimond $72,309
Jefferson/ Harrington $71,553
Eastmont Hills $70,694
Civic Center/ Lakeside/ Lake Merritt $67,427
Cleveland Heights $67,208
Piedmont Ave $65,250
Laurel $64,857
Bella Vista $63,336
Grand Lake $61,717
Allendale $61,223
Bushrod $60,835
Temescal $59,974
Toler Heights $59,075

Cleveland Heights was my first choice homes there rarely come on the market(My heart was set on the area directly behind Oakland High and around Haddon Road but none of the homes I liked were for sale) so I settled for Upper Rockridge.

Really? I only saw 3 (my mistake) neighborhoods on that list with household earnings over $200,000. Who do you think your fooling?
