I have been here for around 9 months and I haven't seen any guys that I would consider eligible bachelors. I am a single black female. I consider myself to be attractive and smart. I have a great career. I would like to meet a black man who is attractive and has a succesful career. Where is he...lol???? I am not running into black men anywhere. I went out in Oakland once and I exchanged telephone numbers with a guy. I hung out with him for a little while, he was attractive but he was in a dead end job. I am not a gold digger by any means, I can more than provide for myself. However, I want someone that brings something to the table.

Where do educated successful black men hang out??

There's loads of black people in the Bay Area, particularly East Bay. Perhaps there's more of what you're looking for there than within the city?

There are lots of blacks in the East Bay but like I said I haven't met a educated successful black man. I could go to any bar in the east bay and meet a guy. I want to go somewhere where my chances are higher for meeting an educated black man.

I think the main problem is is that on the west coast, there isn't really as big of an established black community like you'd find on the East Coast or in the South. I haven't yet encountered a large affluent/middle class black community in California. I'm not sure why.

Have you tried dating online? Eharmony etc.? Surely there you could find more luck?

That is truly false, SF is 15% gay..meaning that half give or take half is lesbian and half is gay.

I know a few black people that I would consider well educated with good career prospects but they generally aren't clumped together in easily identifiable communities and tend to hang out with multi cultural groups.

Demographics, Location, Demographics, Location, Demographics, Location . .

IMO, it's difficult...but NOT impossible to meet who you perceive is the love of your life.

Caveat. .

Best of Luck!

I guess it's the East Bay but try Jack London Sq in Oakland, Telegraph Sq in Berkeley. Always lots of people in and around there. I've seen suited up Black guys around those areas. Maybe one for you?
