Ireland has had a huge influx of immigrants from Asia, Africa, Pacific Islands, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Poland, Eastern Europe, Middle East etc. They are not the sheltered lily white Catholics that you seem to equate them with. Its hard enough to find tech jobs as a US citizen. I have seen no H1B job postings yet. Secondly, the Peninsula is the most expensive area in the entire US. Expect to pay over $3,000 US dollars to rent a house there, to buy- more like a million in the "nicer" parts. If you do come, try lookin at surrounding areas like the east bay. But just be aware that it is extremely expensive here and software testers don't exactly make a lot of money.
