I have a life-long male friend who has lived in San Francisco less than 2 years.

He moved there to live near his sisters who have lived there for many years.

He lived his whole life in Staten Island,NY and worked(as I did) for Chase Manhattan Bank in NYC for 20 years.

We know each other from our days as students in Brooklyn Technical HS--almost 50 years.

His first name is Ed
He's going blind from diabetes.

When he recently telephoned me --- he sounded in very bad shape.
He left me his telephone number and said that he was living in "a residence hotel in SF,where they served him meals".

No mention of the hotel--just that it was"out here".

The day after that call, I forgot my briefcase on a subway in NYC ,and lost his hotel telephone number!!!(He does not own a cell phone)

I desperately want to go visit him in what are probably his "last days"

I've googled "resident hotels in SF' and made numerous unsuccessful calls. My guess is that this is a relatively "low end" hotel and probably not listed on the internet.

Can anyone give me the names of some "low end" resident hotels in or very near to SF that might fit the descripion above.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP

Tom

Oh geez... there are SO many of those here, it would be hard to narrow it down. I know of tons on Market street, so maybe I'll try to look up a few down there. Sorry that happened, and I will post anything that comes up.

Tom -- have you tried a metasearch engine for him? Like Zabasearch? I can't help with the residential hotels -- like the previous poster said there are just so many....
