I am looking at purchasing a home in Hayward hills,CA. I was told there are land slides there. How true is this?

It is a problem in that area, as well as Bay-O-Vista in San Leandro.. you should call insurance companies to see if they will insure the property, and what they will cover.

At some point if you make an offer on a property there will be a whole bunch of disclosures offered to you. A real estate agent familiar with the area you are looking in probably already has the answers to the questions you will be asking.

I'm pretty sure that the responsible building agency could also advise you about areas prone to sliding.

Why risk a land slide in the hayward hills? You can move to castro valley or pleasanton and avoid all that.

The view from some the houses there is pretty spectacular. Great view of the bay.
