Native NYer who has been in Hawaii 6 years. Considering moving to SF with toddler and husband. He will be working in Silicon Valley. Any good suggestions for kid-friendly neighborhood that have a good town center? I like to live walking distance from parks/stores/schools. I would also like to send my child to public school. Would be interested in renting a 2 bedroom house or apartment. Looking forward to hearing from you all!

I thought right away of the Evergreen Town Square in my neck of the woods.. close to Aborn & Ruby in San Jose. Good public schools, a farmer's market in the square, Walgreen's, and a bunch of smaller stores. It would cost about the same to rent a 3-bedroom house or townhouse in that area as a 2-bedroom in downtown Los Gatos or Los Altos.
