I have been reading these boards as an outsider for a few months and can't help but notice all the negative comments and bashing on the SF board. WHY? The way I see it, if you hate it here so much, why do you waste time thinking about or talking about a place that is so bad? Or better yet, spend your energies on finding a way out. And for those who bash but don't even live here... doesn't that reflect pathetically on you?

I live in the Bay Area (and have lived in other parts of CA too). I see the upsides and downsides. Both exist everywhere. But spending hoards of time on the internet bashing a place seems like misplaced focus to me.

Maybe I'm alone here....

Nope, you're definitely not alone...it does get old. SF is an easy target for the haters for a myriad of reasons, often just due to their misunderstandings and misconceptions of the city and the Bay Area.

I have heard mostly good things about San Fran. But, I have never been on the San Fran forum. I am interested in San Diego though. But, I will probably never move, haha.

I do believe misunderstandings and misconceptions cloud people's judgment of the Bay Area. I also feel the Bay Area has some things working against it too, so I'm definitely blind. It's a great place with flaws. So is LA, SD, OC.... I could go on. But rather than spending free time spewing ridiculous comments one could either a) be the change you want to see or b) <if you're more realistic> get the h*** out!!!! Don't even get me started on the fools who bash this place and don't even live here. Pathetic.

Honestly, I think it's a small handful of troll-like morons who stir it up more than anything. It also seems that these trolls are the same people who change their names. So lame. Kinda like picking on a kid in 2nd grade. So juvenile.

If one wants to moan and groan, make sure it's about something substantial.

People on this particular forum tend to be minimum wage workers who never tried hard enough in school and therefore are pissy they can't afford a 4 bedroom house with a pool and 3 kids like they could working at WALMART living in Oklahoma.

People hate on CA on this forum, but the funny thing is, everyone I know who lives in California, people I grew up with, work with, etc., would never even think about leaving the state. It's rare I meet people in reality who hate on SF or the state in general.

Envy is a terrible thing.

Lol. Everything you said is an opinion....yours. Those are the people you know. There are tons of people from Cali where I live. Hell there are people from everywhere here. You could have come at this thread in a different way if you wanted to be taken seriously, son.
