My family and I moved from Southern CA to Moraga in December. My 4-year old daughter wants to resume swimming lessons. She took lessons in the past at the Y and enjoyed them but the nearest YMCAs are in Oakland, Berkeley or Pleasant Hill. I've come across a number of swimming clubs in the Lamorinda area that are expensive to join and/or have waiting lists. Are there any other options in this area?

The Soda Aquatic Center at Campolindo High school has lessons during the spring, summer and autumn. Exceptionally reasonable prices.. around 110$ for 6 small group lessons...or you can do private for a bit more.

You might want to check Heather Farms swimming club in Walnut Creek. I believe that they have a fairly strong swim club. Since it is a community park it might be more reasonably priced.

Here is the website for you to check out.

Strong strong swim program for children in Alameda called Aquatech. Lots of fun and teaches swim safety and fundementals.

Yeah, when I was a kid, we learned at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek. Olympic sized pool, tons of lessons all summer, and even heated year-round for exercise swimmers. The Diablo Valley area does have a lot of private swim clubs, and they're pricey.
