Maybe try Alameda? Warmer than downtown San Francisco, and it's not a bad commute at all.

The only thing that SF would be #1 is the irrational sense of supremacy (almost laughable)
LOL at that BS and using wikipedia as a credible source and justification for it "sucking".

Even the website that you linked to has SF listed as #15. You don't make any sense.

If Oakland didn't have the amount of crime and problems it does that is where I would live hands down. I love it's location and weather. I don't think it can be beat anywhere in the bay area. You get a view of SF and have warmer weather.

Well that's the sad part because it will remind you of how miserable life can be...I say San Jose is the best way to escape gloomy cold SF weather. South bay is great!

Yes the South Bay is GREAT and very beautiful as well! Andy stop being so bitter please! I think you would be much happier if you moved to the South Bay Area. I am sorry to hear you suffering so much ;[

Caligirl2009, I know how you feel!!! I'm from Fl and I basically have a sweater on 24/7. Probably got into shorts & t-shirts only once since I moved here. All the people I've met who love the weather here seems to be from the NE or somewhere that snows for a good 4-5 months. Guess everyone has different tolerance level for weather.

San Francisco is no more safe than Oakland. Unless you plan on starting a dope business. Otherwise SF is just as dangerous if not more or the everyday person. I wouldn't write off Oakland.

Well, first of all, don't feel so bad -- I spent the last five months in San Diego, and despite warm days here and there, it's been much cooler than average much of the time, and pretty cloudy and rainy off and on. We had 2 warm days last week, but it's supposed to rain again in a day or two. It's been a funky rainy season, not stellar in terms of rainfall for CA, but sort of not great weather. Last year, SF had some really hot weather in April, like in the 90s, and some warm winter days too. This year, we're all kind of stagnant. So you're definitely in an El Nino year that's worse than normal.

But, in "general," the inland East Bay and the South Bay are your sunny areas. San Jose is really mild year round, while inland East Bay gets a bit colder in winter (about five degrees) but much sunnier and hotter in summer. I'd still say San Jose and the South Bay has the best climate overall. However, outside of SF or Oakland, it's going to be pretty boring.
