Where in the east bay are you? 50s are only in the Morning. The afternoons are in the 70's in Oakland and I'm sure the rest of the east bay.

Its 62 right now which means you need to wear 2 different outfits for morning and afternoon...and then a 3rd for the evening because it goes from 70 to 60 pretty quick. I don't like to think about my wardrobe that much. I would ideally like to dress for 1 general temperature during the day and 1 at night, and put more effort into looking attractive vs. worrying about if I am going to be cold and uncomfortable or too hot. This is how you dress in LA, but the bay area you need to add a 3rd component, and it just complicates everything...which after fussing with it for a couple years...you just give up and throw in the towel...which brings me back to my original post in this thead...northface jackets, t shirts and sweatpants.

OK Im off to taking my daughter to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Adios!

Now I wear North Face sweatshirts and sweatpants with my hair pulled back in a pony tail every day. I've become a real bay area girl.

Next thing you know I will quit wearing make up, and deoderant, then I will move to Berkeley, trade in the Bimmer for a used Subaru wagon with a canoe strapped to the roof, adorn it with political slogan bumper stickers, and start a mushroom farm coop. AArgh! Help me...I can't stop!!!
so funny! But please don't give-up deodorant

My issue with street fairs is that they're all pretty much the same. Same food, same music, same stuff for sale, with only a few differences. They don't reflect the nature of whatever they're supposed to be celebrating. I think that there should be some kind of requirement that every vendor and performer at a street fair should be offering something that is in keeping with the theme of the event.

I guess the Haight Street fair this weekend might be more unique and will attract lots of weirdos and characters!

And that's why I love SF! Seriously, I would go nuts if I had to deal with constant warmth and sunshine... I'm miserable when I spend the day with my family in the south bay.

I didn't even know about this festival, but I do plan to check out a few others this summer - sporting my hoodie, hair pulled back in a ponytail. We're looking forward to the "county fair" at AT&T, Pride, and some good concerts in the parks. First summer in a LONG time where I'm officially on vacation (working at a school now), so I plan to take full advantage!

Ooooh, that's this weekend? I used to love that fair when I was younger, so I wonder if it'll have the same magic now... maybe I'll go on Sunday with my roommate.

You should move here to the Sunset, where we only need one outfit all day... jeans & a jacket/hoodie. I haven't seen the sun once since I moved here, which is exactly how this sun-sensitive redhead likes it!

San Francisco is the only city I've been to where I've had to wear a jacket in the middle of July...and I wouldn't have it any other way. Can you imagine how miserable it would be trying to tackle some of the hills in 90-degree weather? And this is coming from someone who used to live in LA too!

Ya the weather has been real funky this year. I have to say though...I dig the micro climates in the bay. If you head North,East,or South it just gets too damn hot or too damn cold!

You hit the nail on the head. While I've not been to some of these festivals in some time the ones I have been to lack some real flavor. My guess is the festivals have probably taken on their own life, and most artists probably don't get the exposure or audience they want.

Haight sounds good for the weekend...I went a few years ago and had a good time AFTER finding parking! Will report back if I can make it..
