I saw a crime show, with a reenactment of a case in Baltimore. They filmed on telegraph near 25th. AC transit made a cameo. :P

Although I think the Bay Area trend of Italian restos having everything a la carte is annoying and hard on the wallet, but I am always glad to find quality Italian whenever I can.

Glad you enjoyed it!

It makes it more like Italy.

Dunno if anyone posted this, I couldn't find it here so here's an article from Dec 20.

OAKLAND -- A local developer is closing in on a deal to buy the Sears department store downtown and reconfigure the massive structure into a retail hub for the rebounding area.

Alan Dones, who heads the Oakland-based Strategic Urban Development Alliance, said he has assembled an investment team that is negotiating to purchase both the Sears building at 1955 Broadway and an adjacent city-owned parking lot at the corner of Telegraph Avenue and Thomas L. Berkley Way...
Negotiations advance on sale of Sears building in downtown Oakland - ContraCostaTimes.com

A retail hub is one of the missing links that would enhance downtown greatly. I am also intrigued at the parking lot across the street they are buying--what a great opportunity. Also the rendeding includes a highrise in the upper right corner that does not currently exist so it looks like this developer has pretty big plans, and this is the perfect economic environment to propose this kind of thing. Strike while the iron's hot.

Almost makes me want to get back into property development. Almost. LOL

Hopefully something comes of this. That Sears is such a craphole. That lot across the street used to be a nice 3 story building that got knocked down at some point. You can see it on some old pictures. Hopefully those gaps in the urban fabric up Telegraph start to get filled in.

Apparently, Pandora lit up the sky by putting their bold, white, and bright name on the building. I just noticed

Here's an interesting article:

How retailers, grocers, restaurateurs, developers, and others are working to rebuild Broadway.
