The bodega or site for this hotel was being demolished today. I went over and watched it for a bit. Fun to watch!

2016 Telegraph (23 stories, 223 units) to break ground this summer. Will be the 12th high-rise development to start construction in this current cycle. For Holland Partner Group, this will be their 3rd high-rise to start construction, and 4th development, totaling 1,200 units in downtown Oakland.

The Vancouver-based developers are in the process of finalizing building permits for the 23-story building — designed by SCB Architects — and plan to break ground by late August or September, according to John Wayland, executive managing director for Holland’s Bay Area office. The units will be market-rate with Holland paying a $2.6 million fee for affordable housing. The project will also include retail space. “Holland is very excited about starting construction and believes that this project will significantly contribute to the vibrancy of Oakland's Uptown District and Telegraph Ave," Wayland said. He declined to share construction and development costs.

Can we add 277 27th street (across the street from Whole Foods)? That is going to be only 18 stories. Crane went up ~June 15th. https://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/us/277-27th-street

I dont know why there's such an emphasis on preserving old building facades on so many of the new projects. Most of the old brick storefronts on auto row being saved are totally unremarkable imo.

That said I wont look a gift horse in the mouth. Thank you and build away.

I only included developments where construction has started in 2019 or will likely start this year. Demolition and foundation work started for 227 27th last summer.

Some curious oversight from the design review process. It gets problematic when it causes unnecessary and costly delays that stalls, downsizes, or shelves projects.

Does anyone know if there are plans for a supermarket in jack London square?
I see there are 500+ New units coming in that area this year and still no supermarket for the area.

There is a huge space right in JLS that has been vacant since before I moved to the Bay in late 2006. It was supposed to be the answer to the Ferry Building, but nothing has changed. When I lived in JLS, I did my grocery shopping in Alameda right on the other side of the tunnel. I left in 2017, so maybe there are plans, but I doubt it.

It was announced back end of March that a market hall would be opening but no timeline. I'm down in that area pretty regularly and didn't see any visible progress. CIM bought JLS back in 2016 so that stopped any plans back then. This is new: https://www.sfchronicle.com/food/art...-13714957.php#
