For those who want to know the target at 27th and Broadway is now open adding some much needed shopping in downtown Oakland. I hope some more stores fill into that Valdez area.

Been a while since I posted in this thread, and the last 2 year brought so much change to downtown as far as highrises coming online---well, here is an interesting article from today about how a billion dollars in deals in Oakland have taken place in the past few days, including the former Sears bldg going for $400M+, purchased by a major real estate conglomerate out of Singapore.

Brooklyn Basin is already pretty remarkable and it's just getting started...

A's fans should be crossing their fingers and toes that they build it near JLS/Brooklyn Basin, because it'll be AWESOME

Wouldn't that be something? Might almost make me forgive them for the Cespedes trade. But after 20+ years of talk, I'm still extremely skeptical.

When it comes to building anything of scale in Oakland, we have to be extremely skeptical and assume it's not going to happen, but this looks pretty much in the A's favor thusfar---hopefully it gets done ASAP.

There has/is so much activity in downtown. Anyway, here is another highrise residential tower being proposed. We need as many as we can get.

According to the article:
The project is being planned at 1261 Harrison St. in downtown Oakland, documents filed with city planners show.

The housing tower would be an estimated 22 stories high, according to the proposal. The development would feature 207 residential units.
