Haha, what? the company that just moved a bunch of jobs OUT OF Oakland is the savior now? How much money has been pledged toward sponsorship and luxury suites? Why haven't these potential buyers been named, unlike O'Malley with the Padres or Ellison with the Grizzlies? Another PR stunt from a floundering mayor.

The only this proves is that the Giants are correct in trying to keep their territorial rights in tact.

Furthermore the East Bay has more large companies than many other markets that are doing better than the A's as far as attendance.

So if the East Bay has the people, the money and companies, perhaps its true that ITS THE TEAM OWNERSHIP that is the problem.

And by the way, the issue of moving the team will neither be on the owners meeting agenda this month nor at any time in the foreseeable future.

Im starting to get more bold in my belief that the team is staying put.

So why has support been subpar through the decades? Look it up. The facts are available to everyone.

As far as the Giants being justified, all it proves is that th A's will not be competitive in their own market even with a new stadium.

art murmer tonight .maybe instead of 7000 folks on one night maybe 3500 two nights a month might be better.

Oakland Art Murmur adds 9 venues to First Friday

"on the first Friday night of every month, when as many as 7,000 people turn out for an art walk organized by Oakland Art Murmur, an association of art and cultural venues that expanded southward in March to include Swarm and eight other places."

There is also a weekly Saturday Stroll:

I am happy to see it extend to more of downtown.

I love it.
What took them so long? Not like these companies sprouted up overnight.

With territorial rights being firmly established by the Giants, I don't think Wolff could move the team if he wanted to. They're stuck here. The best thing for him to do at this point is to take on partners, revitalize the surrounding area around the Colosseum or Jack London Square or whatever the plan may be and make the most of the A's likely stay here in Oakland.

In fact, I don't think he honestly has any other remaining options. Or Wolff can keep overcharging fans to see a ****** product in a rundown stadium that will be non-competitive for years to come with ever declining ticket sales.

Why do people think waiting long enough will present a solution? All Oakland has done here is flip flop yet again on their plan. Just a few months ago, they were going all in on Coliseum City. Now they hold a press conference about the A's alone (no Warriors or Raiders)? This is no progress at all, just more talk. Clueless Quan is playing right into the Giants's hands. She even dined with them to discuss their strategy, even though Piccinini has stated that Giants ownership blocked him from purchasing the team years ago. The ambition is so blind and desperate.

Exactly.

Wolff has basically painted himself into a corner, and now is stuck.

He needs to sell the team and focus his energy on the Earthquakes.
