The latest I've seen on Oak to 9th (courtesy of the Waterfront Action page):

"Update: Project Status January 2012

At its January 26th, 2012 meeting, the Port Commission extended the deadline for close of escrow for Oak to Ninth by one year and agreed to to amend to the Purchase and Sale Agreement to provide for this extension. The new escrow deadline is January 31, 2013. For context, read the Agenda Report for this item (pdf). "

good to know thanks. Ive been looking into all the major projects in the city. Most seem to held up for unknown amounts of time. I assume some smaller projects may get underway though soon. San Francisco and San Jose have already started building like crazy again.

Oakland tried to make every project tied to redevelopment. There is a lot of financing and oversight to sort out since redevelopment was eliminated.

jsba, I did see signage posted for the leasing of the Fox Uptown retail development. To be located in that parking area at the rear of the Fox Theater.

Sunfield Development

Sorry, my image posting skills are weak.

Excited about this one. And there are about 3 new bars/restaurants planned for that vicinity in the next 3 to 6 months.

I think some of these bigger developments are stalled (due to the redevelopment agency stuff) but honestly there is a lot of smaller, independently funded development going on all over the city. Looking at all of the new stuff on Broadway in the past year or so is very positive.

Im excited about this one as well. My company was looking at leasing space in this development when it was first brought up. Tagami was helping to lease the space prior to it being built.

are there any new plans for the jack london area? every time i come home to visit, i'm amazed that they closed down so many of the restaurants in jack london as well as retail and razed the old jack london to still not have developed it. i could definitely see jack london hosting something equivalent to a chelsea mkt (nyc)/reading terminal (philly)/eastern market (dc) in jack london as well as new residences. i'm also interested to know if any new developments are in the pipeline for west oakland (i really think there's enough industrial land not being used there to put a new ballpark thus saving the A's, but clearly that's not on the politicians' agenda)

Does anybody know what the retail project is that is going in the old Conell used car lot on auto row across from 3000 Broadway. I have heard from my people in planning that a developer is trying to put some major retail project there and already has a major anchor tenant, but i haven't heard who the tenant is or anything about the project.

Apparently two new clubs are in the works for the Uptown area. One is a Latin dance club at 2120 Broadway and the other is across the street at 2147 Broadway. It is good to see something other than restaurants, bars and music venues opening up in Uptown. Dance clubs are needed.

Good news, we really don't have any clubs! Hopefully the music is good.
