Just hope your PD doesn't do like ours does in SJ. They have a terrible habit of shutting down practically every club in town down here, and preventing others from opening.

I don't think I've seen anybody post about Donut Savant on 1934 Broadway. Broadway is really picking up. Oaklandish, Awaken, Bittersweet and hopefully the two dance clubs I posted earlier.

Welcome to Donut Savant

Also, Hopscotch, from a former Yoshi's chef, opened up about a week ago. It is some sort of Japaanese-fusion bistro place.

Looks good, I always thought it was a poor choice by the developer to not put storefronts on the San Pablo side of the the uptown apartments. it seems to me that that kind of kills the vibrancy up and down the street which has slowed some of the growth of businesses there as well. Hopscotch looks good though, ill have to check it out.

I like the storefronts, but I consider them part of the 15 year plan. I hope their rents are really cheap, because there is still lots of development to do to increase the foot traffic over there. Piedmont Piano is pretty, but it doesn't add a lot of vibrancy.

I agree with that. Hopefully the land at Telegraph and 19th will get developed in the next year or so because that would certainly help the area spark up even more. I also just hate the big empty plot.

You'll want to look at the Broadway Valdez plan. There is a plan for large scale retail there but it is definitely anyways out. The tricky thing is, Emeryville is courting Macy's for the far end of bay street as a second anchor. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. The inner east bay is overdue for a Nordstrom.

You would think that if both San Leandro and Hayward can support a Macy's then both Emeryville and Oakland could too.
