I would prefer more (daytime) flights to the east coast.

Other stores and service providers among the two dozen tenants will include Ross Dress For Less, Anna's Linens, Wells Fargo and a Head Start Center -- the second largest in the East Bay.

Oakland City Council approved a consultant contract for a study into the viability of an extended B Shuttle route and electric streetcar system.

Streetcars Might Make a Comeback in Oakland | Politics and Breaking News | Oakland, Berkeley, Bay Area & California | Seven Days

There have been talks of a streetcar on Broadway for years, probably even decades. I would love to see this come to fruitition. It would link various neighborhoods together including: Jack London Square, Old Oakland/Chinatown, City Center, Uptown, Valdez Triangle, Auto Row, MacArthur/Broadway (as well as Piedmont Avenue) and Temescal.

Gordon & Rees Oakland lease: First sign of S.F. flight?

Quote:
San Francisco-based law firm Gordon & Rees LLP is expanding with a new Oakland office at 1111 Broadway in City Center — a sign that a spillover from San Francisco is coming east. The firm leased the entire 17th floor, about 24,000 square feet, to house 120 employees who will move from its headquarters at 275 Battery St. in San Francisco’s Financial District. The workers moving to Oakland include its administrative, information technology and support staff as well as its environmental and toxic tort law group.
