Waldorf, Subury and other Alternative Schools (Santa Clara, Palo Alto: private schools, to live, moving)

Hi!
We live on the east coast but moving soon to the SF area. we are not sure where, it depends on the kids' school. We are looking for either Waldorf, Subury or some other alternative options; Waldorf private schools are usually very expensive so we are looking for a non expensive option or a charter school. our kids will go the first grade and third grade.
We want to live somewhere commutable up to 2 hours by car or train from Palo Alto or other parts of the silicon valley.

any ideas ideas or suggestion will be most appreciated

I know Seaside had a Waldorf inspired charter school which is quite good. Google Monterey Bay Charter School for info there. That would be a 1.5 hour commute or so. There are great communities surrounding it such as Pacific Grove and Monterey with Prunedale and Aromas north of it by 20 minutes or so. You could do a car/train commute combo from different areas, depending where you are headed.

Here is a link to private schools in Santa Clara County Santa Clara County (http://www.baprivateschools.com/santaclara.htm - broken link) - which include a Sudbury and Waldorf school. If you go to the homepage of that link, you will find private schools for all counties in the SF bay area. I believe SF has a Waldorf, too.

It seems, to me, that North Bay offers a lot more in terms of public Waldorf options.
