I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness in Mountain View since 1994. I'm away from the area but am actively looking to move back. 24 Hour built the new "sport" location in the old Albertson's supermarket. They kept the old, original location open. Before I moved away I asked their staff what was going to happen to members who didn't move their membership over. They didn't give me an answer. 2 years ago when I was in the old location, it looked almost exactly like it did in 1994!! I like consistency, so that's not all bad.

Does anyone know of plans to shut down the original 24 Hour Fitness location in Mountain View? Has anyone already moved their membership over? What was the price and the experience like to change to the newer club? Was it worth it?

I used to live in Mountain View and moved my membership over to the new 24 hour fitness. I was told that there were no plans to get rid of the old location. Both are extremely busy! Membership in the new location starts at $85 a month.

Yikes! My membership in the old club is still only $20 a month. Same rate since '94. They've let me freeze my account and not pay fees when I move out of town. Sometimes I'm gone for 18 months and it hasn't been a problem.

I guess I still like the old location. It feels familiar. I see more older folks who go to that location.

I don't know what's going on in Mountain View but I highly recommend if they give the promotion to pay 2 years in advance and get a year free do it. I pay a monthly rate for the whole year. It's very expensive up front but well worth it.

I don't think they're planning on getting rid of the old one. Plenty of people still use it.

The new one may say it starts at $85, but usually they have some sort of deal going on where you can get it for much cheaper.
