I am an Indian Attorney having an experience of 6+ years, currently on spouse VISA in US and just passed my California Bar.

I know job market is really bad at the moment, but I would appreciate any suggestions on how to start my career here.

Any work VISA sponsors or volunteer work opportunities??????

Thanks for your response.

I have 6+ yrs of experience in Civil litigation. But as I have to start afresh here in US, I would like to have exposure in other fields as well.

Those who are attorneys would be in a better position than I to tell you about the potential for employment in the US. Still, FWIW, you might want to look at this recent NY Times article:

There are always exceptions, of course; particularly if you develop expertise in a much sought after specialty. Good luck.

How many hours did you bill per month in India? Will you commute to the east bay? My husband is looking to add another attorney to his office, but he requires billing workhorses who put in fairly long hours. I rarely see him during the week.
