Any opinions on this event, including safety? We drove by today and it looks interesting, though the rows of porta-potties was a bit ominous.

It doesn't get rowdy like music in the park occasionally will, if that's what you're wondering. Mostly just parents walking their kids.

It's very cute. Since I live downtown, I go every year. I've never heard about any safety problems. It doesn't attract a thuggish crowd.

I think they are talking about getting rid of Music in the Park for next year becuase there was a lot of thuggish behavior this year and the cost of police overtime to pay for it is high.

Also if you need to go to the restroom, go to the Fairmont Hotel. Very nice restrooms.

We are very lucky to have this for another year - this is the second year it almost didn't happen due to budget cuts. Arguably the signature annual event for San Jose.

I think we'll go this year (we've missed the past several). What a great tradition!

I've been going to Christmas in the Park for several years. It's fun and safe for families. While you are by the park, you can stop by Bijan, a cafe right to the park for some yummy pastries and coffee. My personal favorite bakery.
