Santana Row is the exception that proves the rule.

Satanic Row is actually rather convenient - we have a consensus-agreed upon zone to which we send the cheesy uppity guidos that alight into our territory.

It also makes for something of a zoo, whereby one can enter and observe the curious, sometimes shocking behavior of this species in its natural environment.

VTA got high marks for safety (3rd in the country), but getting around on the buses and Light Rail takes a lot of time out of the day. Massive area to cover.

And it has to run on the same overcrowded main thoroughfares as everyone else. The ridiculous central hub at the Great Mall is particularly stupid - it takes a bus a bare minimum of 10 minutes just to get to the expressway.

Ok, that survey was a joke. I'll grant you that one.

I'm a SJ native.

The numbered streets and any areas occupied mostly by third-world immigrants are indeed dirty if not also odious.

SJ simply has too many poor and primitive people who don't speak English and have more children than they could ever afford to raise without the taxpayer-subsidized charter schools provided by SJ's socialist government.

Anyone who is a severalth-generation American will have an aversion to the city and would rather live in one of the Silicon Valley cities west of SJ.

Don't even tell me how nice Willow Glen is. It's right next to Ghetto Glen so Bramhall park, like Kelly Park as well as nearly every other park in SJ, fills with illegals and ghetto people. I symphathize with the WG residents who live adjacent to those parks.

Shasta-Hanchette is bordered by slummy areas to its east and South.

Only the Almaden Valley is a good place to live while keeping most of the primitives at arm's length though anyone in the AV would still rather live in Los Gatos, Los Altos, etc.

...for those who agree with calling people "primitives." Which, given which areas/people previously described as such, compared with areas that feature an "acceptable" demographic, is venturing pretty comfortably into racist rhetoric. Thinly disguised, at that.

The Willow Glen/"Ghetto Glen" stuff is particularly telling. Everyone in this town knows why some on one side of the tracks think of those on the other as drasticly inferior to their own. Even as those awful lowlifes take care of their children, paint their craftsman homes, and mow their lawns for pennies on the dollar.

As for Almaden Valley - if you ain't white or Asian, they don't want you there. They make that clear. Cops gleefully enforce DWB down there.

So any area adjacent to a bad area is bad itself? There goes the whole world...
