I currently live in LA and i will soon be going to college. But, I would like to go to college somewhere near where i want to live, so im gathering info from all over the country. i wont be going to school in SJ, but instead hopefully at UCSC. I will hopefully majoring in pharmacy, so i will be making a lot of money. What are some of the nicest areas where i can get a good sized home, may 3 bed, for 1 mil or less.

also, where is the nearest beach thats warm enough to swim in.

I use to live in the area and I lived in Sunnyvale for a while. There are some nice homes there under a Mil in good areas. Try Lakewood or Fairwood village (lawrence/sandia) Santa Clara/San Jose border also has some nice homes off the Alameda.

As for beaches that are warm to swim?? you might have to go to Hawaii or past Ensenada in Mexico. I haven't been to a beach in CA that was warm, and think they are really not swimming beaches. There was a beach that I liked in the San Luis Obispo area called Avila that was swimable but still cold.. but the waters were pretty calm. Few shark attacks have happended there though..

The water hits 60 maybe for a month out of the year at any of the beaches up here...The water just isn't that warm here.
