I may get an offer in SFO - CA 94123 (Marina/Cow Hollow part).

I live in Cupertino - so Caltrain is the only option for me.

Whats the most economical public transport option? How much will be the time per day and cost per month?

Are there any private buses like Bauer?

Please advise.

Drive up De Anza/Mathilda or take VTA 53 bus from anywhere on De Anza to Sunnyvale Caltrain station (free with Caltrain pass). Take the express train to SF. Then take Muni 30 the rest of the way to the Marina. Looks like about a 2 hour trip each way starting at Caltrain. I've never tried to commute into San Francisco by car, so I can't tell you if that's a good bargain or not.

The monthly Caltrain pass is $179 for the 3-zone, gets you on VTA regular buses and LRT for free, and you get a discount on a monthly Muni pass, which makes it $69.

There's no good public transit connection from Cupertino to SF, they all involve long round-about diversions that are expensive and time-consuming I'm afraid. Your best bet is to drive to a Caltrain station, but even then you've got to add Muni time and cost from 3rd and King out to your final destination.
