Hi
We are considering buying a single family home near the San Jose City college, close to Kingsman Ave and Menker Ave. Any inputs on this area will be highly appreciated. We are looking for kids-friendly, safe neighborhood.

Thanks

We welcome you to Burbank. Don't let the haters say otherwise.

In the past, there was serious trouble around the apartments near there. You can look up "Richmond Menker" to read about it. Hopefully it's better now.

There have been a couple of condo complexes developments over the last couple of years, so its up and coming, especially with the palm lined streets. Also you have Santana Row and the Rose Garden almost literally within walking distance. Good centralized location.

I am living in west side of Bascom Ave, not far from San Jose City College and new Bascom Library and Community Center. I feel this county-pocket area is quiet, safe and convenient. This county pocket adminstered by County of Santa Clara, not part of City of San Jose.

There is a house for sale on Lindaire Ave now. Every home on Lindaire Ave with 10,000+ sqft lot. It is hard to find such big lot in such convenient location.

That Lindaire Ave is very nice, I would like living there. I lived many years close to there, but on the other side of Bascom.

I live near Kingman and Goodwin (which is the next street east of Menker) and have been here since 1996. I think it is a fairly safe area as long as you do not live north of Kingman on Menker. Homes there face the Richmond-Menker apt complex which has had its ups and downs over the years. Currently I am working with the landlords to ensure the security of their tenants. Most of the problems at R-M do not spill out into the surrounding houses. Personally, I like this neighborhood and I raised my son (now 25) here.
