I'm a full time SJSU student. I would LOVE to find someone who travels from the southbay to central or at least goes through Los Banos (152 East/Pacheco Pass Hwy). My cheapest commute has been a free bus ride to Gilroy and getting picked up there.

Any one do this commute and want to split the cost? I come home every other weekend, usually Friday evening and come back Sunday. I'm flexible and won't flake!
I do have a car and will drive.

Let's see...

2 posts, 1 of which you admit to being a woman.

This one looking for an anonymous rideshare partner?

I need to talk to your parents about your personal safety, I'm afraid.

That's if both posts are true.

"Admit to being woman"? As if a woman is something that needs to be admitted to, like pedophilia or alcoholism?

And then you go on to imply that women shouldn't carpool? Or are you insinuating that a woman is incapable of vetting a carpool partner? You seem to have some serious hangups about women.

LoL.

She's a kid advertising for a rideshare person on the internet, if true. Why not check on campus for someone to rideshare with?

Could have said "claims to be a woman", this is the internet after all.

It's a dangerous world out there.

Talking Senno, you're a DI..

CK! Hmm I'm part of several forums, all of which people actually MEET new people in their area. Your comments are sexist and degrading. I refuse to live in fear and deprive myself of opportunity because I may be seen as vulnerable or weak. Being a woman does not make you a second class citizen. Being young doesn't make you a kid. Going to college doesn't link you to ride share partners. Meeting up with someone the internet introduced you to makes them NO LONGER anonymous. Stop hiding behind your computer, living in fear of the unknown. Get your head on straight. Goes to show your character. Grow some balls. What a warm welcome 'senior member'.

I pretty much grew up on the Internet. I know firsthand what happens - how people figure out where the easy target fish are and then throw out the hook. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it isn't. Posting in a massive forum like this, which is picked up by spiders all over the web, makes it very easy for the wrong kind of person to find you. I suggest that you take a different approach and use a site like rideshare.511.org. The Pacheco Pass - Silicon Valley commute is very common and you should be able to find something anonymously without putting yourself at risk.

Knee-jerk petulance doesn't serve a teenager's aim to be recognized as a mature responsible adult all that well. Getting all bent out of shape because one suggests that going about meeting up with others for rides may be more safely done in ways other than the original question tends to raise doubts about one's care in considering the likelihood and nature of very possible bad outcomes in this endeavor. To be offered prudent advice on personal safety =/= branding one a "second class citizen."

OP was criticizing the tone of Senno's posts that were expressed in an unconcerning way. As for the 'second class citizen' issue, your only further confirming the OP's beliefs.
