I am looking for swimming classes around Santa Clara. Since I work, I am looking for places offering evening classes as I will need to get in the pool with the baby.

Did you check your local YMCA or rec center?

I think you may have a hard time finding the night classes for swimming (for babies or young kids) due to many kids usually getting to sleep around 7 pm... I know there could always be exceptions and you may find a night class for babies, but I think weekends will be your best bet if you want to get into an infant swim session.

Private swimming lessons are more expensive (maybe 2x) but a better deal than group lessons. Some people with backyard pools teach swimming lessons for money. Babies/kids get much more out of them and they take place whenever you and the teacher agree on.

DACA offers 6pm group classes on weekdays for any age (we've seen them teach a 3-month old with the parents in the pool), and possibly later than that. They're located on De Anza South of Bollinger. The teachers are all very young (basically they're mostly students at De Anza College) but I find them all to be pretty good with kids. It's a bit pricey - $80/month for weekly 30min group classes, and the Yelp reviews about teachers rotating as their life moves on are correct, but you know what - the results are there, our 5-year old is happy and can swim across the pool's length, dive to retrieve objects and swim underwater, all this without a high-achieving, stressful environment.
They also have private classes but much pricier (basically 2x the price). If you find the class to be too crowded or don't like the teacher, you have the option to move to a different evening of the week, that worked out well for us a couple of times.
