Don't you mean "The Alameda" near SCU? What's considered the Almaden (Valley) area is way southward.

I LOVE Victorian houses!!! There is one for sale in Downtown San Jose right now, and I'm contemplating on it. But my wife is pretty adamant about not staying anywhere in any kind of "downtown". She likes the 'burbs, that's how it is.

Always wanted to live in the Henley District of Downtown San Jose, so many beautiful Victorian homes. South of SJSU there are a ton of Victorian homes as well. Sadly that neighborhood to the south of SJSU is not too desirable, such a pity considering the many beautiful Victorians in that neighborhood

Thanks, yes I meant The Alameda. Old timer's disease.

Bobby_Guzman, I also love Victorians. It is sad when areas with great old houses become bad neighborhoods, and they aren't maintained.

If you're talking about the portion that abuts Cupertino and Saratoga, it is indeed very nice - because they are zoned for the Cupertino and/or Saratoga school districts (verify specifically), but have real estate prices that are high, correspondingly.

The part that feeds into Moreland School District (still very good schools) may be more reasonably priced.
