Thanks again for this input.

They are an "outdoorsy" family, and mostly go to parks on weekends and love the National parks/hiking etc... So I can't really help them there since they have that covered. Trying to find a few holes that might be worth trying in their area. True, they might think that ?Gilroy Gardens etc.. is not really their thing, but from what you guys are telling me I sense the 8 year old might still enjoy one visit there.

They are also a little busy/?lazy and if things are not at their doorstep they don't usually go.

Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton? I love the Redwood train...and if they're not familiar iwth it it's a nice excuse to find the place and I think there are public hiking trails around there.

Find out when their "America the Beautiful" national parks/rec lands pass expires and renew it for them ($80).
