I am relocating for a job in Mountain View (E. Middlefield Road). We are looking at purchasing larger home in more of the suburban neighborhood. What would the commute be from San Jose Evergreen or Almaden Valley?

We are also concerned about quality of schools -- any suggestions for the neighborhood where you could get newer 5 BR house on the 1/4 acre or bigger lot for around $1.5M would be welcome.

Hi, I wouldn't go for Evergreen. The schools aren't so good there.
The commute is about 30 Minutes, but it's terrible to get on the freeway if you need to go through Capitol Expressway. It's constantly constipated.

Almaden has very good schools, the commute is about 30 minutes as well.

I would check out Cupertino. You could also check Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto. Use mlslistings.com to search. I found some homes that meet your requirments in those areas. Cupertino has probably the best schools. You could even try Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, Campbell and Saratoga.

I'm not sold on Almaden only being a 30 minute commute though
