I think he meant west to north-west.. there is nothing really better going north from AV. But even then, the only areas that I would consider better school wise are Saratoga, Los Altos and Palo Alto. Maybe Cupertino but I would hesitate to send my kids there. Mountain View and Los Gatos seem to be about the same as AV. Out of these options AV (95120) is definitely by far the best in terms of value/price. In places like Saratoga you might be able to buy some older 3br house for your $1.5M.. In Los Altos that might be enough just for a townhouse. If you don't have to commute then Almaden Valley is in my opinion the best choice.

Sorry, yes I really meant West...or Northwest. As in West San Jose, Sunnyvale, parts of MV or Santa Clara...or southern parts from the peninsula like San Mateo, Belmont...

If you work from home, though, then by all means get the best value for your $$! I just wouldn't relish that commute to the North/West...it's terrible.

I assume by your ” not be a minority” comment that you are white...I'll come back you that. The schools in the area are good with the elementary schools being better rated than the high schools. And that has to do with the changing demographic of the area with the influx of young Asian families and their cultural commitment you education.in the next several years as young Asian kids go to the high schools the scores will go up. And I the next 5 our ten years you will be the minority in that area.
