Hello

I was recently offered a job in San Mateo and will be relocating in a month or so. I am looking at an apartment in the Redwood City area near El Camino and Woodside. The job is located in San Mateo right off of Hillsdale Blvd. I was wondering what the commute to and from San Mateo would be like via 101, or possibly even El Camino?

Thank you for the assistance and happy holidays to all

https://maps.google.com/ can answer your question. I guessed for exact locations, and it says the drive is about 15 minutes. "In current traffic" (8 PM at the moment) is a few minutes longer. If you check the site during rush hour, you'll get a good idea of how long it would take at that time.

Great suggestion, actually tried that earlier this morning but felt it wasn't accurate as I assume most people are out on vacation this week. I'll definitely give it another shot next week when people start trickling back to work.

I've done that commute - lived at Jefferson/Alameda, Redwood City and worked in Burlingame. You'll be at the limit the whole way, most of the time. Traffic doesn't slow down until you get north of 92, which is basically where you're getting off. 101 is actually better than El Camino, which can be a real drag.
