I'm from Dallas, TX and never been to CA before. I'll be in Milpitas for a week on business, but I may stay over the weekend and check some things out. Can you guys give me ideas on what do do during the week in and around Milpitas and then maybe some things to see over the weekend that are a short drive away? From looking at map it looks like Redwood City is close (Is that where you can drive through the massive trees?) and San Fran is an hour or so away. Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There is not much in Milpitas to see or do. You could go to San Francisco. There is also the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose www.thetech.org. As for redwood trees, there are few of them in Redwood City. There are redwood state parks in the Santa Cruz Mountains more-or-less between San Jose and Santa Cruz such as Big Basin St. Park. You could also visit Santa Cruz if you want to see the coast line.

Put it this way... Milpitas is the blunt of every comedian's jokes when they perform in the Bay Area.

Great Mall and Dave & Busters.. other than that, you'll be going out of town, like the others have said.

lots to see and do in San francisco as well as san Jose. about 3 hour drive you can go to the wine country around napa and such. The pacific ocean is just about 40 minutes from milpitas. Whatever you do, don't hang out in milpitas.

Nothing really in Milpitas.

Portola Redwoods State Park is a nice place to see the trees. Along with Big Basin.

Tahoe is about 3-4 hours away. Yosemite is about 3 hours. Monterey is beautiful, its about an hour away. Its probably rainy though.

do not go to the tech museum of innovation in SJ unless you were born in the 90's or later.
