Currently, the VTA runs express buses from Fremont BART to downtown San Jose that run on a frequent basis. The 1st and Santa Clara stop is clearly the most popular one. By Diridon, the bus is empty. The downtown station is non-negotiable.

The 1st/Santa Clara station is probably the only station in the entire two-phases of the extension that even comes close to justifying BART-level investment.

I would imagine there would be a significant level of ridership from Five Wounds to DTSJ and Milpitas. In any case, I'm not sure I understand why you would want to prevent East San Jose commuters from having a better option to get to jobs outside the County.
