My point was that these long-term residents, many of whom are retired or have incomes far below what it would take to buy here today, have most of their net worth tied up in housing, so they will live middle-class (or even lower-middle-class) lifestyles until/unless they cash out and move. And there are a lot of these long-term residents living here.

This is why Cambrian remains firmly middle-class (for now) despite the astronomically high price at which houses are selling today. If the high prices continue, more and more people will cash out and the demographics will start to look more like Almaden. But we aren't there yet.
This whole Almaden as elite compared to Cambrian is super stretching it. Big time.
