I have a 450F2 garage detached from the main house. I am planning to convert it into a one bed room with full bath studio. Any idea? how much it will cost? permits etc

Good luck getting a permit with that. I doubt that will be allowed.

But people do things anyways that are not legal. Talk to contractor for quote. My guess is that it will cost $40-50k. Run the plumbing and water, plus need to re-do part of slab for this, maybe $20k. Framing and bedroom, maybe $15k. Bathroom maybe $10k.

whats priceless is reporting it to the city due to no permits and having to tear it all down on your expense

Yes, you run the risk of anyone reporting you, and, if somebody is really crazy, trying to blackmail you.

There is side way that can take 4 cars at least. So I do not need to do street park even without this garage. Also the house is just 2bed room house.

Requirement in my city is 2 off street parking spots. 1 must be covered parking (garage or carport); another 1 does not have to be covered (such as drive way).

Also, garage is accessory building, which is not intended to be lived in. On other hand, cottage or guest house can allow bathroom. But there are other requirements to have cottage and guest house, such as lot size and setback.

Don't know the regulation where you live. Look it up.
