I have seen some. Here are some areas:

1. University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto-I've heard of so many people who live nowhere near here that underestimate the level of volume that this area has, with some speculating that there's no tourism here. I've seen several street performers here, and there seems to be a developing music scene here.
2. I was very surprised by this, but I have seen one in downtown San Jose.
3. Santana Row-I've encountered a few of them in this packed area.
4. Downtown Campbell-Within the one block that is.

Palo Alto seems to have the most street performers out of any city in this large area though. It's still nothing like San Francisco though.

I thought downtown Campbell had 3 blocks to choose from.

But seriously, I have seen street performers, usually a guy with a trumpet or a guy with a saxophone in Paseo de San Antonio, either by 1st or 2nd St downtown.

Haven't seen much else except for more organized events that have live music like Sofa Street Fair, or smaller similar stuff in DT MV or DT PA.

Yes. There's always that sax guy at every Sharks game.

And sometimes in the most unlikeliest of places. Had a guitar guy strum up some good notes while we were all waiting in line at Icicles in Willow Glen of San Jose one time, in the rain.

No. Our homeless just do drugs and panhandle aggressively. They aren't musically inclined.

I used to see plenty "performers" on Cinco De Mayo weekends in the past. Flash mobs, cruising etc. Though I don't know if this is still the case today
