Google's massive housing and office plan wins city approval

Google's proposal to build a massive campus and high density housing for its employees got approved.
Another nice perk for its employees.

Housing evidently won't be restricted to Google employees.

The lack of housing is impacting employer's recruiting efforts.

It's good to finally see the villagers around San Jose step up and help share the burden of housing the South Bay's workers. If you want to hog the jobs like MV does, then you need to build the appropriate housing commensurate with the jobs that you hog.

I'm glad to see the village of Mountain View step up to the plate. But 10,000 units in how many years? 5 would deserve a huge round of applause, but 10,000 units over a period of 15-20 years would be nothing to brag about.

It's strange that 70% of these units are supposedly slated for studio and 1 bedroom apartments. This will not be all that helpful to working families and will just serve to relocate more tech-bros from San Francisco to the South Bay - wonderful.
