Since they "don't have interest in gender equality, marriage equality", there are probably no plans for college if their kids are girls, or at least half of their kids are girls. Girls should sit at home, prepare food for husband and make laundry. Girls do not need to go to college to learn house shores.

So they can save some money on this deal if following their believes.

It's not about being weird, this person literally had a few sentences to describe her situation and felt compelled to tell us that she doesn't believe in equality or rights issues. California has tolerance for almost everything, but not tolerance for bigotry or ignorance.

The OP is being blunt and honest, absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. That’s something that’s good to point as well, considering they would met with resistance since they aren’t “open” enough.

So it’s bigotry they don’t believe in that stuff? Wouldn’t it be bigotry as well to be opposed to the OP’s views and opinions and not be open to their thoughts/opinions? “Open minded” goes multiple ways you know
