Are there any good locator service for peninsula/south bay? I am looking for a newer apartment (built within 15 years) and can't seem to find a website with build year filter.

budget $3000/mo (total)
  • 700sqft+
  • within 10 mile radius from E Palo Alto
  • quiet & safe area (crime map not dark blue, so Redwood City is out), not facing a busy street
  • apartment built within past 15 years, older houses are ok
  • A/C

I don't care care much about things within a walkable distance or schools. Any area to recommend? Thanks

I wish. I didn't find anything like that when we were looking. It's exhausting, too, as for us we needed a house that would allow a pet so it was all private party. When we were first moving my husband's company connected us with a realtor who was supposed to help us with that but in reality we missed opportunities b/c she didn't try as hard as I could myself.

Any new apartment in the safe peninsula areas like Mountain View will be over $3,000. Houses will be $4,000+. To get the new look on a budget one has to go across the bridge to the East Bay. Here are a couple of examples of newer apartments in Union City and Fremont.

Impossible given your constraints, no chance. If you're willing to consider 50 yr old buildings then it's a different story, you'll have many choices.

You don't need AC on the Peninsula, it's not South San Jose. 1-2 days per year might be uncomfortable, don't stay at home on those days and you'll be fine.
