^ Are you saying that when I give a suggestion to a poster, I'm being used as a scurrying minion. Oh. You misunderstand the city-data forum mission. You misunderstand that the purpose is not to chide interactive posters. OK.

No, I am talking about people so lazy that they always ask other people to do the research for questions/answers that can easily be found in less than 5 minutes of research on google, or yelp, or whatever platform is best for the subject. Such as "can I take CalTrain to the SF airport", or "where are there redwoods close to the Bay Area", or "I'm looking for a pizzeria in San Jose".

There are lots of people who have posted "things to do around San Jose" that can be easily found via google. Using city data members as research minions for one's petty subjects because one is just too lazy to spend a few minutes sorting thru google search results is pretty ego-tastic. Doing it repeatedly, for subject after subject, week after week, well ...

It took you just as long to type that as it would have to give a couple recommendations of things to do in SJ.

There is really nothing exciting in San Jose. If I were to suggest anything, I'd say hit up Alviso. Take a stroll through some of the bay trails.

Better watch it. Neutrino'll hit you up. Reserve such statements for flyover country.

The most boring block in SJ is more exciting than the most awesome parts of nature in the mid-section of the country.

And the ironic thing is, this will be to him like those planes in flyover country.....right over his head!

The Winchester Mystery Mansion is a favorite for some, it's even better if you go around Halloween. I like the Rosicrucean Egyptian Museum too, but you have to know "tourist" locations are not going to measure up to what you will find elsewhere in the Bay Area. There are many parks, hiking, and open spaces too so it all would depend on what you like to do, or why you are limiting yourself to just San Jose?

There are a few good wineries and tasting rooms. Try Montrose, Coterie and J. Lohr. There is also the San Jose Museum of Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art which has exhibits. There is a textiles and quilts museum too, that doesn't seem that exciting. I've never been to it.

Don't miss Santana Row. There is also a scavenger hunt adventure for gamers and geocache fans that is a really popular and fun way to explore San Jose.
