I have been using Comcast's phone + internet service for the past 4 months costing $65 a month and I was curious to know what everyone's paying

I'd be happy to switch if its cheaper...I dont have cable and I only need decent speed internet + landline service

thanks y'all.

I use AT&T. Phone is about $25 and DSL was $25 but just reduced it to $20 as I committed to another year along with a free modem (old one was six years old).

I had Comcast about six years ago at my old place and their billing/customer service issues made it an easy decision to switch when I moved. For the TV, I use DirecTV.

I've used Packet 8 for years. The unlimited service is $199 a year, works well with cable internet such as Comcast.

I'm curious as to how you're paying only $65 for Comcast's phone+internet. Is that a promotional time limited rate? Right now they have offers where you pay $66 a month but only for the 6 first months (for their 6 Mbps), but then it goes up to ~$90 or so (they're not very clear in their deceiving marketing)...

I've had AT&T since I've moved into San Jose back in July from Spain and their service sucks. At first I subscribed to their 3 Mbps offer, but it never worked so they downgraded me to 1.5 Mbps. After having many issues and calling customer support 100 times, they tell me I'm too far from their central station and I can't get more than 768 Kbps reliably!!! So they downgraded me again! For Christ's sake, is this the heart of the Silicon Valley or Siberia!?!? And I live in a pretty central location in San Jose, in Willow Glen...

Apart from AT&T and Comcast, are there any other options at all?

I appreciate your feedback.

Regards.

Actually I called them to ask what they've got to offer and the guy sweet-talked me into going for the $65-a-month deal(high speed internet + unlimited phone usage), boasting how much I'd saved. This was 6 months ago. Since I was having a bad time with my verizon mobile service(overusing the minutes), I took up that offer.

6 months later, I found we're really not using the landline that much. Besides, getting internet at the office all day I felt the superspeed internet wasnt worth it either.

So I switched from comcast to ATT, basic local telephone service for $10 a month, basic speed internet for $14 a month. Changed my wireless phone provider to ATT from verizon. This is giving me a saving of $45 a month on the whole. As far as usage and benefits go, I dont see any downswing compared to what I was getting before
