Hi,

I am looking at property near these coordinates 37.277665, -121.941982.
For example, on Cambrian Drive, Campbell.
Is having the body of water so nearby indicative of any problems? Any ideas why that body of water was not covered up?
Are these real concerns -> soft soil, possibility of flooding, more likely hood of liquefaction during an earthquake?
Is it better to buy somewhere more north?
Here's the google map link to those coordinates:
37.277665, -121.941982 - Google Maps

Thanks in advance

The satellite map coordinates look like a commercial property not a residential one. Liquefaction occurs in fill areas (Like Foster City and the Marina District of SF) An area that has a streambed is far more likely to have settled over time than a fill area.

Your biggest concern may be about flooding. try this link to find out.

I think those are man-made bodies of water. The creek is west of Hwy 17.

I think the OP may be referring to percolation ponds.

If so, no problem at all with flooding.

I just confirmed using Google maps, those are perc ponds (for all you Eastern carpetbagger greenhorns, those are for recharging the aquifer).
