In mid-June, my husband and I will be taking 30 teens and adults on a day trip to Santa Cruz from our hotel in San Jose. We're hoping to keep the transportation cost at $25/person. So far we've had no luck finding minivan rentals in that price range, and 12-passenger vans seem to be hard to find. We're pretty open to considering any options at this point. Does anyone have any good ideas? Thanks!

You could take the Hwy 17 Express bus, at $3.50 a ride. I don't know how busy it would be or whether there would be room for everyone.

Yeah, the 17 express stops downtown and everything. It may be hard to group everyone together, though.

Here's a page with a list of charter co.'s to call if you wanted to give some more a try; San Jose Bus Rental | Bus Charters in San Jose, CA

You might also look in to renting a few motor-homes or call around to various churches (some have passenger vans and buses) and see if they would be up for an "out reach" opportunity.

Hey, thanks for the replies, everyone. After calling around some more, we ended up getting a great deal on a rental car and 2 (12-passenger) rental vans, so we're happy. We leave for CA in 6 days... can't wait!
