It isn't anymore. According to the 2006-2008 American Community Survey, non-Hispanic Asians make up 56.9% of Cupertino's population, and non-Hispanic whites make up 33.8% of the city's population.

The information from hsw does not sound correct. A fellow teacher worked in a Cupertino elementary school last year, and said the lowest educated parent in the class had a Harvard law degree. Most of the other parents had PhD's. It would helpful if hsw could provide some data to back up the assertion that most Cupertino parents have a lower level of education.

Much varies based upon one's budget and cultural preferences

Cupertino's glaring negative is that it is a heavily Chinese suburb w/many parents with lower education and career achievement levels; e.g., many Stanford/Berkeley/IL/MI/Carnegie-Mellon-educated engineers who work in Cupertino at Apple or Symantec, etc opt to reside in suburbs like PA, Saratoga, etc as residential Cupertino itself has demographics which don't reflect what one's kids will find at any leading college or in the senior executive suites of any major tech or financial company in Silicon Valley or NYC

PA has more of an AA intellectual culture w/residents including many top SiliconValley engineers and execs (incl senior execs of Cupertino's most famous co.) and many Stanford faculty and grad students....a motley but smart crew of white guys from Midwest, Indians, Jews, Chinese, African-Americans, etc

Reading the responses made me laugh. I went to school in Cupertino and live in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara. I would stay clear of Cupertino as much as possable.

Elaborate on this, por favor?

Seems the only issue with Cupertino schools is pressure to improve from "A" to "A+".

If you haven't moved yet check out the API ratings on this site... http://api.cde.ca.gov/reports/page2....submit1=submit
you can look up the individual school, county city etc. Palo Alto has some of the best schools.
If you can afford to live there (you may just have to look a while) check craigs list found this helpful yet time consuming. You might want to give yourself time to find the right place.
As kids get older they're not as focused and I have found the scores are not as high for the younger grades. The scores are more level. Hope all goes well with your relocation.

Sorry a little brain fart thought you said PA cupertino schools also rank well. Just check the scores.
