Hello,

I just graduated from school on the east coast and before I start my graduate studies I am taking a 6 month internship in Cupertino. The internship was a complete surprise! My graduation present is a German Shepherd puppy. I know it's not ideal, but I really want to take him with me for the 6 month period.

Worst case scenario, I can live in an extended stay hotel for 6 months with him.

I'm not going to know anyone when I get out there, other than a guy that I'll be working with. He is also a potential roommate, so depending on pricing and location the house/apt/condo can range from a studio - 3BR

Everyone I have talked to (other than two places with HORRIBLE ratings on apartmentratings.com) doesn't allow german shepherds, regardless of the fact that he will be roughly 9 months old & about 60lbs when I move OUT in August. I realize that I'm asking a lot with the whole 6 month lease thing but if there is any place that also is furnished, it would be great. That's not a deal breaker though, I can sleep on an air mattress and stare at blank walls if I've got my dog.

I'd like to be within 10 minutes of Cupertino but just let me know if there's anything else, I can handle a bit of a commute if the price is right and everything.

These are all dog friendly rentals in or near Cupertino.

I sympathize with you as i know how difficult it is to find a rental with a dog.
And puppies, especially larger puppies, can make landlords nervous.
Make sure he's house trained and trained not to chew furniture, door casings, etc., and that if you rent a place with hardwood floors, you cover them with something to protect the finish.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response.

I've scoured craigslist for the past few days and it just seems like most people don't want to take in a GSD.

I think it may be best to find a small 2BR cottage or equivalent. Anyone know of any resources?

Default You shouldn't have any problem

Why don't you repost about a month before coming with info about the name of the company.... Cupertino is a tiny city. Is it Apple or HP,... plenty of dog friendly 4 plexes and apartments within 5 minutes.
