I am considering relocating to the San Jose area in the spring from Chicago. I need advice on good areas to initially rent. Also interested in any other constructive advice or tips on experiencing a successful relocation. Also I work in the healthcare field in Occupational Therapy and would appreciate info on area hospitals, home health agencies, and nursing facilities that are good employers

LOL, that might be the broadest, most general question ever posted on this board!

He's also posted the same question on the San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Orange County and San Berdo/Riverside forums. He's also ran the same question on the Reno forum and maybe others for all I know. I don't think he knows where he wants to move to. Troll alert!

Maybe he's just lonely.

Thanks thus far for the responses, they've been helpful... NOT. I have active licenses in IL., NV, and CA currently as well as considering OR. The overall cost of living is lower in NV (absence of state tax helps as well). I lived in Las Vegas for 18 months and although I love the climate there, not much else about the city is appealing to me. No California is also a draw with the ocean and overall beauty, spent 3 months in Santa Rosa on a temp assignment, but cost of living is obviously higher and So. California not really for me (except possibly San Diego). In todays economy and difficult job climate I feel fortunate to have such flexibility due to demand in my field. I have a few months to decide all pros and cons, needing to make a decision by early May if I decide to take an initial 13 week assignment with one of several "travel companies" that have offered assignments. Hopefully, this post helps explain my several posts throughout the region. However if I am lonely i'll look elsewhere for friends...lol.

I know you added a smiley, but a sarcastic comment like this is not likely to get you any help. It also doesn't help to post the same question on many forums. I think I posted a reply to you in another forum, maybe I'm mistaken. Are you saying that all of the answers in all of the other forums were unhelpful, or just this one?

Stanford Hospital recently opened up an occupational therapy center. That might be a good place to start.
